REDFORD TOWNSHIP DISTRICT LIBRARY
Redford, Michigan Merritt McPherson Cieslak was selected to design a new 65,000 square foot library facility for the Redford Township District Library. The Redford community had long ago outgrown its 14,000 square foot facility constructed in 1962. Due to a very tight site, the new building is designed to have a 32,500 square foot first floor with a 32,500 square foot second floor. The library will initially occupy the first floor and a portion of the second floor. The balance of the second floor will be used for future expansion. The new facility has been designed to complement the surrounding residential community and the retirement community it abuts. The new facility will serve the residents of Redford Township for many years to come and is a physical example of the value they place on quality library services. |
